Enable menu bar in Internet Explorer 7 |
|
Friday, June 22, 2007 |
If you are like me you may be growing to like IE7 but still miss having the buttons in the same place that you have been used to finding them for several years. Here is a quick how to bring them back if you still want to look at them. First thing you will need to do is click the tools drop down to the right and pick menu bar and check it. As soon as you do that you will see them where they have always been on the left top. Labels: IE

Pre-SP1 Vista Hotfixes list |
|
Wednesday, June 20, 2007 |
| I found a great list of Pre-SP1 hotfixes for Windows Vista at Aaron Tiensivu's Blog. If you are like me and not a real fan of the Windows Update site and all the red tape etc that you have to go thru in order to just get updates that you should have fair and easy access to. You might want to also check out the "AutoPatcher" site. There they have most of these fixes available and it is alot less complicated to get your computer updated. These fixes are broken down into handy intelligible categories as follows on Aaron's site: - · Add-ons
- · Core OS
- · Core OS subcomponents
- · IDE/SATA
- · Networking
- · Multimedia
- · USB
Here is the section that I found especially interesting and necessary. the Core OS section: Core OS
KB 933272 - Updates Kernel! The system time lags when you restart a Windows Vista-based computer that supports High Precision Event Timer
KB 932590 Windows-based applications that use the TZ environment variable may not work as expected because of changes to DST
KB 930979 You may receive a "Stop 0x0000007E" error message after you enable the BitLocker Drive Encryption feature in Windows Vista
KB 930955 Moveuser.exe is incompatible with Windows Vista and is replaced by the new Win32_UserProfile WMI functionality
KB 929777 Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on a computer that uses more than 3 GB of RAM: "STOP 0x0000000A"
KB 931573 You may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer on which Windows Vista was already activated by a Volume License or OEM installation Labels: Vista
